Unidentified dead body recovered near Railway crossing along Poilapul Jaipur Road

The dead body of an unidentified person was recovered near Gate No. 8 of railway crossing in the Silchar Jiribam section of railway line along the Poilapul Jaipur road. The incident took place on Thursday morning at around 8:00 a.m. After the departure of Jiribam Silchar passenger train, the dead body was seen by local pedestrians. According to eyewitnesses, like every other day, the Jiribam Silchar passenger train came as per its scheduled time at Gate No. 8 railway crossing along Poilapul Jaipur road and the gatemen closed the gate. The train came and went at high speed. After the train went, the local pedestrians saw the dead body of a man on the side of the railway line about 50 meters away from Gate No. 8. The pedestrians assumed that the man had died after being hit by the train. His head and body were severed by the speeding train. The news was given to the gatemen nearby. The gatemen saw the dead body and informed the higher authorities about the incident. RPF police personnel arrived at the spot and took the dead body with them. Till the time this news was published, the man’s identity remains unknown.
