Moment of pride for Barak Valley: 5 students make it into merit list, Prithwiraj Dey secures 4th position in science stream

Class 10 results few days back left Cachar district and entire Barak Valley in sorry state. Only one student, Swapnaneel Bhattacharjee made it to the merit list. Today the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) announced Class XII results across all streams and as many as five students from the valley made it to the merit list.

Ramanuj Gupta Junior College’s Prithwiraj Dey secured fourth position in Science stream with 479 out of 500. Dey fell short of the topper Amar Singh Thapa of Hojai by only seven marks. In Science stream another student from Barak Valley made it to the merit list, Karimganj district’s Md Shakil Akthar of SV Vidyaniketan HS school secured eighth position with 473 marks.

Ramanuj Gupta Junior College

In commerce stream too students of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College emerged as the toppers in the valley. Shayan Paul of the institution secured sixth position with 460 marks. The state topper in Commerce stream Raunak Lohia of Nagaon scored 474 to book the top berth. Shayan Paul’s classmate in Ramanuj Gupta Junior College Kuntala Gupta grabbed the seventh slot with 459 marks. Hailakandi district’s Yash Sarda of Hailakandi Junior Science College secured eighth slot with 458 marks.

Three from Ramanuj Gupta Junior College Cachar one from Karimganj and one from Hailakandi, these five rank-holders will be inspiration of many appearing for examinations next year.
