Tragic bike accident in Barak Valley: Two young boys dead, one critical

Two youths died in a terrible bike accident in Ratabari while another pillion rider was admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital in critical condition. The deceased youths were identified as Ramesh Rabidas and Gautam Vhor. Ramesh’s house is in Vetarband of Ratabari while Gautam’s house is in Cheragi.

The accident happened at Lalcherra tea estate located in Ratabari constituency. The victims were identified as three friends who were on a new Honda motorcycle without license plate travelling from Dullabcherra to Fanai Tea Garden. The bike lost it’s control and hit the wall of a Durga temple at Lalcherra tea estate while the three friends fell on the road due to the impact.

Locals rescued the three friends and called a 108 ambulance sending them to Dullabcherra Model Hospital. But Ramesh Rabidas and Gautam Vhor died before reaching the hospital. Another pillion rider, Amrit Lal Vhor, was later shifted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital owing to his critical condition. He is fighting for this life there. Amrit Lal is a resident of Lalcherra tea estate.

Ashish Mahanta, Officer-in-Charge of Nivia Police Outpost arrived at the spot with his team and took the bike to the police station. The news of the tragic accident has cast a shadow of mourning in the area.
