Fatal Road Mishap in Silchar Claims Three Lives, Leaves One Critically Injured

In the early hours of this morning at around 1:00 am (Last night), a tragic accident occurred in Silchar’s Ram Nagar bypass area, resulting in one of the most devastating road mishaps in recent times. The incident took place in the Pechadahar area when a scooter collided head-on with a motorcycle.

Eyewitnesses reported that the rider of the scooter attempted to overtake a truck, but while accelerating, collided with an oncoming motorcycle. The impact was so severe that all four individuals riding the two-wheelers were thrown onto the road, leading to fatal consequences.

Tragically, three individuals involved in the accident lost their lives on the spot. The locals promptly responded to the scene, calling for an ambulance and notifying the local police station. The police officials swiftly arrived at the location, and the critically injured individual was immediately transported to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for urgent medical attention.

The deceased have been identified as Kunal Kar, Suhail Khan, and Rehan Choudhury. Their dead bodies have been sent to SMCH for postmortem

Khan and Choudhury were riding the scooter and hailed from Kathal Road, while Kunal Kar, a resident of Subhash Nagar, was riding the motorcycle. Kar’s companion, Deepanjan Dutta, suffered severe injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Dutta is a resident of College Road in Hailakandi.

Authorities are conducting an investigation to gather more information regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident. The incident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for responsible driving practices to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.
