MLA Dipayan not contesting for the post of President! Shibabrata President in the new panel, Secretary Chandan

A Dramatic twist unfolded at Silchar District Sports Association’s upcoming BGM. The one around whom there was so much talk from the last one month, he removed himself from the fight. MLA Dipayan Chakraborty is not staying in the new working committee of Silchar DSA. Because according to sources, the MLA of Silchar has withdrawn himself from the fight for the post of President. This time the ruling party’s new candidate for the post of President of DSA is Shibabrata Dutta. And Secretary is Chandan Sharma.

The ruling party has held several meetings since yesterday to finalise the panel. After Bijendra Prasad Singh stepped down, several names emerged for the post of Secretary. Gati Dainik has also done an exclusive report on this. First Debashish Shome’s name was heard. But his name was discussed at the initial level and it caused dispute. Two AGS candidates Chandan Sharma and Arijit Gupta made it clear that they will not hold any post under Debashish.

As a result, Debashish Shome’s name was withdrawn from the post of Secretary. On Sunday night, the ruling party once again held a meeting to finalise the panel. Only BJP officials were present in this meeting. A source revealed that in that meeting, MLA Dipayan said he will not stand for the post of President. Rather, his preferred candidate for this post is Shibabrata Dutta. After that, the name of Chandan Sharma came up for the post of Secretary. In that meeting, a panel was decided for other positions except the post of President and Secretary. Today morning MLA Dipayan sat in a meeting once again. However, there was no official of the party in this meeting. The legislator sat in a meeting with the sports organisers. In that meeting, the name of Shibabrata Dutta for the post of President and Chandan Sharma for the post of Secretary was almost confirmed. If there is no twist in the current situation then Shibabrata Dutta and Chandan Sharma are the candidates for the post of President and Secretary of the ruling party.

The significant thing is that the ruling party has finalised a panel after almost a month of efforts. After Bijendra Prasad Singh stepped down, many of the current committee withdrew themselves from the upcoming BGM. That they are not fighting anymore was rumored in sports circles although it was not officially announced. Here too a dramatic twist came. The panel which was finalised today by the ruling party has also named those sports organisers.

There is still confusion about one post. That is the Vice President Administration. The ruling panel has two names for the post – Siddharth Shankar Bhattacharjee and Ashutosh Roy. Among them, Siddharth Shankar Bhattacharjee is the favorite of sports organisers and Ashutosh Roy is preferred by Bharatiya Janata Party and Cachar Sports Forum. Other candidates for the post of Vice President of the panel are Major – Subimal Dhar, Others – Mridul Majumder, Stadium – Prasenjit Bhattacharjee, Referee – Nandadulal Roy, Swimming – Animesh Sengupta, Cultural – Ajay Chakraborty. The important point here is that Animesh Sengupta was not in the ruling party’s panel. Likewise Siddhartha Shankar Bhattacharjee was also not in the panel. But both of them have been kept in the panel.

Three AGS posts have also been reshuffled. The three AGSs in the new panel of the ruling group are Debashish Shome, Arijit Gupta and Prithhis Paul. The name of Prithhis Paul, the former Indoor Secretary of the organisation, has recently surfaced. Buddhadev Choudhury has been placed as treasurer. Interestingly, the name of Niharendu Dev was being discussed for the post of Cricket Secretary in the meeting of the ruling party for the last two days. But he is a man of the opposition lobby. He was supported by several workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party. However, in this morning’s meeting, it has been decided to keep the current Secretary Niranjan Das in the new work association. The ruling party is making Niranjan the Cricket Secretary. Bikash Das is named as the Football Secretary. Earlier, the name of Shambhu Choudhury was heard. Satyajit Das is the minor games Secretary candidate. Ashish Chakraborty is the ruling party’s candidate as Stadium Secretary. His name was heard earlier for the post of AGS. Although many objected to it. As a result, he was removed from there and given the post of Stadium Secretary. Although the panel has somehow been finalised, two positions remain unclear. Satyajit Das was kept as Minor Games Secretary after Shambhu Choudhury was selected as the Football Secretary. He is still the ruling party’s candidate for this post. However, since Bikash Das has been selected as the Football Secretary, it is not yet clear what responsibility Shambhu Choudhury will be given this time by the ruling party.

Other aspirants of the ruling party panel are: Indoor Secretary – Animesh Chanda,

Swimming Secretary – Sukhen Sarkar

Cultural Secretary – Satyajit Dey

Hockey Secretary – Sudarshan Choudhury Physical Secretary – Mithun Roy

Balls Secretary – Shantanu Roy

Umpire Secretary – Himadrisekhar Das Referee Secretary – Samar Roy

Ground Secretary – Kaushik Roy
