Babul-Atanu launch party campaign after creating panel

Team Babul-Atanu lobby formed their panel after ruling party. This lobby has started the work of making the panel after the ruling party created their panel and started campaigning for their 26 candidates. About 90 percent of the work has been completed till this afternoon. But it did not get a full form. Because, the candidate for the post of Vice President (Others) has not been decided till now.

Although the opposition party did not campaign together earlier, all of them campaigned individually. The opposition camp is visiting every club and educational institution from the morning till night. According to sources, the candidates of the opposition camp also sat in an important meeting on Wednesday night. They made a panel of their own in this meeting. The plan has been finalised as to how and who to fight in the polls against the ruling party. The opposition camp wants to fight unitedly to give a tough contest to the ruling party. So that no one from the rival camp gets off easily, the opposition party has created the panel.

Notably, two close relatives are facing each other for the post of Treasurer. Jyotishman Bhattacharjee is in this post on the panel of opposition party. Buddhadev Choudhury is on the ruling party panel. Both are said to be close relatives. As a result, doubts about the election of this post have started to grow. It wouldn’t be surprising if there is a walk-over in this post.

Also some positions have “common” candidates on both panels. They are Vice-President Nandadulal Roy, Ashutosh Roy, Football Secretary Bikash Das, Umpire Secretary Himadri Shekhar Das, Ground Secretary Kaushik Roy. As a result, all these candidates can be elected unopposed in the coming term. But it cannot be confirmed at this moment because any member can announce his/her candidacy even at the moment of formation of the new committee. This rule is there in Silchar DSA.

Team Babul-Atanu went for party campaigning this afternoon. But their group was small in scope. The team went to the United Club for campaigning and returned. At that time all officials were present on behalf of the club.
