AOA has cancelled the membership of Silchar DSA, Observer Shaibal Sengupta unware!

The Assam Olympic Association (AOA) revoked the membership of Silchar District Sports Association more than a year ago. But AOA member Shaibal Sengupta does not know that. He does not even know that a case has been filed against AOA. On the contrary, he emphatically claimed that if there was a case in the court, the legal notice would have gone to the AOA. No such notice was sent.

Shaibal Sengupta came to the BGM of Silchar District Sports Association on Sunday as an observer of AOA. Amaresh Choudhury of Karimganj came with him as another observer. Standing infront of him, Shaibal Sengupta said in response to a question, “When did AOA cancel the membership of Silchar District Sports Association? I do not know anything about this.” Not stopping here, he further asked, “Why will AOA cancel the membership of Silchar DSA? Silchar DSA is participating in all AOA events. Then why are you all asking this question?”

Sengupta also refused to accept the court case against AOA. In his words, “If it was a case, a legal notice would have gone to the AOA from the court. Nothing like that has been sent.”

It is noteworthy that Shaibal Sengupta was given the responsibility by AOA Secretary Lakhya Kowar to settle the dispute with Silchar District Sports Association. As a result, he should have known everything about it from the beginning. But he is standing on the ground of Silchar and saying AOA has not canceled the membership of Silchar DSA.

AOA had sent a letter canceling the membership of DSA. They even wrote to all of their members instructing them not to allow Silchar DSA to participate in their meetings. In an indirect way, AOA Secretary Lakhya Kowar called for a boycott of Silchar. Despite all this, Shaibal Sengupta said AOA has not canceled the membership of Silchar District Sports Association.

AOA has sent ‘observers’ to DSA’s BGM who are oblivious about the ongoing conflict between AOA and Silchar DSA. What can be more ridiculous than this!
