Dead body of an old woman recovered from a field in Dholai, Heatstroke suspected to be cause of death

The dead body of a woman aged above 60 years was recovered from a field in Islamabad village of South Dholai under Dholai Police Station area. Around 3:30 pm on Monday, Fariz Uddin Barbhuiya, a resident of Islamabad, while going to the field to graze cows, saw the body of the woman lying on the field near the road of Mahal brick kiln. He informed the matter to the local BDP Secretary. 

As soon as the news of the dead body lying in the field spread, people gathered from all over. Meanwhile a person identified the old woman identified as Shariful Bibi Barbhuiya of West Saptagram. The news was sent to the family. When the family members arrived, they identified the dead woman as Sariful Bibi Barbhuiya, aged above 60.

According to the family members, the old woman went to the bank to withdraw the old age allowance. It is assumed that the old woman lost her way due to extreme heat and came all the way to Islamabad. She was trying to reach home through the field in the hot sun. The woman is believed to have died due to heatstroke.

Sub-Inspector Bidhan Nath and Sub-Inspector Shyamoli Gogoi of Dhalai police station rushed to the spot after hearing the news of the incident. They recovered the dead body and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
