Tragic accident claims life of bike rider at Badrighat bridge, Prompts safety concerns by locals
In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred last night at Badrighat bridge in Cachar, a young bike rider lost his life while his pillion passenger sustained severe injuries. The deceased has been identified as Sizu Laskar from Kashipur.
According to reports, the tragic accident unfolded when a speeding Pulsar bike, driven by Laskar, collided with the railing of the newly constructed Badrighat bridge. The impact was so severe that Laskar succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while the pillion passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Eyewitnesses who were present at the scene immediately alerted the local police about the incident. Law enforcement officers swiftly arrived at the location and coordinated the transportation of the injured passenger and the deceased rider to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
The accident has sparked concerns among locals about the safety of the Badrighat bridge. A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke to reporters about the prevailing issues. He highlighted that the absence of proper lighting on the bridge has been a major concern, leading to risky behavior by young bike riders.
