SEBA HSLC exams to begin from February 16, 2024; Board releases schedule

The Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) has officially released the schedule for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2024, putting an end to months of speculation. The examination is set to commence on February 16, 2024, and promises to be a rigorous standard test for lakhs of students across the state.

The HSLC Examination, a crucial milestone in the academic journey of Assam’s students, will kick off with the English literature exam on February 16, running from 9 am to 12 noon.

On February 17, elective subjects Music, Dance, Wood Craft will be examined from 9 am to 11 am, while elective subject Bengali will be held from 9 am to 12 noon on the same day. In the afternoon session on the same day, students will face elective examinations Manipuri and Santhali from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Social Science will be held on February 20, from 9 am to 12 noon.

February 21 brings another set of elective subjects to be held from 9 am to 11 am, including Retail Trade NSQF, IT/ITeS NSQF, Private Security NSQF, Health Care NSQF, Agriculture & Horticulture NSQF, Tourism & Hospitality NSQF, Beauty & Wellness NSQF, Automotive NSQF, Electronics & Hardware NSQF, Agriculture Diary Worker NSQF and Animal Health Worker NSQF. Additionally, the elective subject Assamese will be examined on the same day from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

On February 23, the MIL (Modern Indian Language) and English (IL) exams will take place from 9 am to 12 noon. MIL subjects include Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Boro, Manipuri, Khasi, Garo, Hmar, Mizo, Urdu, Nepali and Karbi.

General Science exam will follow on February 26 from 9 am to 12 noon.

On February 27, exam of elective subject Weaving and Textile Design will be held from 9 am to 11 am while the exam of elective subject Bodo will be held from 9 am to 12 noon.

March 2 will feature the elective subject exam Hindi from 9 am to 12 noon and another elective subject Garment Designing will be held from 9 am to 11 am on the same day.

The HSLC exams will conclude on March 4 with a series of elective subjects in the morning session from 9 am to 12 noon, including Advanced Mathematics, Geography, History, Sanskrit, Computer Science, Commerce, Home Science, Arabic, Persian and Nepali. In the afternoon shift, elective subject exam Fine Art exam will take place from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm on the same day.

SEBA has also published the schedule for practical exams, with Computer Science, Music, Dance, Weaving & Textile Design, and Commerce practical exams set for February 2 from 9 am to 11 am. Wood Craft, Home Science, and Fine Art practical exams will follow on the same day from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

On February 3, practical exams for subjects like Garment Designing, Retail Trade NSQF, IT/ITeS NSQF, Private Security NSQF, Health Care NSQF, Agriculture & Horticulture NSQF, Tourism & Hospitality NSQF, Beauty & Wellness NSQF, Automotive NSQF, Electronics & Hardware NSQF, Agriculture Diary Worker NSQF, and Animal Health Worker NSQF will be held from 9 am to 11 am.

It maybe mentioned that the candidates will be granted an extra five minutes for reading the question paper, in the morning shift from 8:55 am to 9 am and in the afternoon shift from 1:25 pm to 1:30 pm.
