Naga Extremist Camp Reduced to Ashes in Assam-Manipur Border Operation
In a recent breakthrough, law enforcement authorities have successfully eradicated an active camp of the Naga Nationalist Council (NNC) in the Namdailong area, and the camp was turned into ashes by the locals. The NNC, a Naga extremist group, had been causing disturbances and rapidly gaining influence in the region.
Reports indicated that the NNC members were involved in various illicit activities, including money extortion and harassment of local residents. The group’s presence in Namdailong had escalated, leading to heightened concerns within the community.
On December 12, a serious incident occurred during a meeting at one of the NNC camps, resulting in gunfire and the tragic death of a member. This event escalated tensions in the area, prompting swift action from law enforcement.
Responding to the heightened situation, the police launched an operation to curb the NNC’s activities. The operation, carried out with the support of locals, led to the arrest of numerous members of the insurgent group. Notably, the camps were burnt by the locals, symbolizing a resolute stance against extremist activities.
As the camp was ablaze, the local people were seen cheering, marking the end of the reign of terror by the extremist group. With this, the locals are now more likely to live a hassle-free life without any worries of anyone trying to extort money from them or facing any kind of harassment.
