Success for Cachar Police as Drug Bust in Meherpur Leads to Multiple Arrests
In a significant development, law enforcement authorities, led by Cachar SP Numal Mahatta, acted upon credible information about a drug consignment delivery at a scrap shop in Meherpur Botertol owned by Amaj Hussain Barbhuiya, son of Abdul Barbhuiya. Following the tip, Amaj Hussain Barbhuiya and his associate, Mustak Ahmed, were apprehended and subjected to interrogation.
The investigation revealed that the planned consignment delivery involved a boy and a girl on a motorcycle, with Makbul Alom Laskar acting as the mediator. Subsequently, a strategic operation was conducted, resulting in the arrest of the entire team. The authorities seized nine soap cases containing a total of 306.51 grams of suspected heroin during the operation.
