Railway service between Badarpur and Lumding shut till June 17

After six major landslides between Badarpur and Lumding on June 13, the railway services has come to a standstill. The North East Frontier Railways today informed that the services between Badarpur Junction and Lumding will be completely shut till June 17 (Sunday).
The spokesperson said that the tracks in several areas need major repairing work while in some spots the track needs to be cleared of all the debris. The track inside tunnel number nine has also got damaged due to the landslide, clearing a tunnel needs time is what the spokesperson said. The Railway administration feels it will be able to clear the tracks by June 17, and begin regular services by June 18, provided there are no fresh landslides.
This disruption in service will impact travelers from Barak Valley and Agartala. Many trains in the coming days is set to get cancelled while few might get controlled in Lumding Railway Junction.
