Road Mishap 2.0: Two Vehicles Collide in Karimganj, Five Seriously Injured
In another unfortunate incident, a head-on collision between two vehicles in Berajal, Karimganj, has left five people seriously injured today.
The accident occurred between a Renault Triber (AS 11 Z 3122) and an auto-rickshaw (AS 10 BC 0328). The two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided. All five injured individuals were passengers in the auto-rickshaw. Three of them have been identified as Khatun Begum, Farida Begum, and Dulan Roy. They have been taken to Karimganj Civil Hospital for treatment.
SP Karimganj, Partha Pratim Das, spoke to Barak Bulletin and stated that the accident site is around 1 km away from a previous accident site.
According to SP Karimganj, Partha Pratim Das, the primary cause of the accident was overspeeding and an attempt to overtake another vehicle. One of the vehicles was trying to overtake a bus, leading to the collision.
This incident follows a tragic accident that occurred nearby on 23 July, Wednesday, where six people, including an 18-month-old baby, lost their lives. Today’s accident took place just 1 km away from the earlier site.
