Tragic: Mentally Unstable Woman Found Dead in Dholai's Islamabad Area

An unidentified woman’s body was discovered near a pond in Islamabad area of Dholai, close to the Manipuri Market, opposite a petrol pump. The incident took place on Wednesday morning around 11 a.m., drawing the attention of the local community. The body was found beneath a mango tree, a short distance away from the national highway.

Local residents immediately alerted the police, and Inspector Manoj Baruah, Officer-in-Charge of Dholai Police Station, reached the scene with his team. Initial investigations suggest that the deceased woman was a homeless wanderer who appeared to be mentally unstable. She had reportedly been seen roaming around the area over the past few days.

Eyewitnesses claimed they saw the woman near the petrol pump earlier that morning. As per reports, the scorching heatwave in the region has led police to speculate that she may have succumbed to a heat stroke. There were no visible injuries on her body, indicating that her death was likely due to natural causes.

The police have sent the body to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The body will be kept in the hospital morgue for 72 hours, as authorities wait for any relatives or acquaintances to come forward and identify her.

Inspector Manoj Baruah has urged anyone who may know the deceased or have information about her identity to visit the hospital. The police hope to give the woman a proper burial if her family can be found.

The tragic discovery has left the local community in shock, as many recalled seeing the woman wandering in the area. With temperatures soaring, this incident also raises concerns about the welfare of the homeless, particularly those with mental health issues.
