Minor Girls Abducted from Lailapur, Allegedly Raped in Mizoram Lodge
Two minor girls have been kidnapped from Lailapur and allegedly raped at a resort in Vairengte, a town in the neighbouring state Mizoram. Local organisations have demanded the arrest of the kidnappers and the accused in the alleged rape of the two minors.
This incident has happened on September 17 at 9 in the morning, infront a shop named “Jhumi Traders” in the Lailapur Bazar area. Lailapur, which is close to the Assam-Mizoram border in Cachar has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Crime rates in the area have increased. The recent incident last Tuesday is also heartbreaking and is causing a situation of panic in the area.
This time, two minor schoolgirls were abducted and taken to a lodge in Vairengte, Mizoram, by two youths, identified as Ruel Amin Laskar and Azad Hussain Barbhuiya, by the locals. The parents of the two victims, the abducted minors, have lodged a serious complaint at the Lailapur Police Station. According to the complaint, the two accused forcefully abducted the schoolgirls in a luxury vehicle while they were on their way to school. The girls were taken to Vairengte, a border area in Mizoram, where the accused allegedly raped them at the lodge.
After staying at the lodge for around two to three hours, the two accused brought the girls back and abandoned them at the Channighat Tea Garden area on the Assam-Mizoram border of Cachar district and fled from the scene. Upon learning about the incident, the parents of the victims filed a case at the Lailapur Police Station.
Meanwhile, following this shocking incident, various organizations have risen in protest, demanding the immediate arrest and encounter of the two delinquent youths accused.
One such association demanding the arrest of the two said in strong words, “The two girls were abducted from Lailapur Bazar and then taken to Vairengete in Mizoram. AS 11Z 6366 number black car owned by Ruel Amin Laskar, the son of Aminul Haque Laskar forced the two girls inside his car and drove off crossing Assam border. What happened at the lodge will only be revealed after a medical examinaion. He along with his friend Azad Hussain Barbhuiya intoxicated at the lodge, consumed alcohol”. The organisation demanded the prompt arrest of the accused and also claimed that this was not an isolated event but it has become a daily happening.
An FIR was lodged at the Lailapur Police Patrol Post by a group of social activists.
