In a shocking turn of events, a police constable named Ishwar Sinha tragically took his own life at the Circuit House in Silchar today. The incident occurred around noon on October 19, when Sinha, who was on duty, shot himself in the head with his service rifle in the security guards’ room.

Upon receiving the news, the police swiftly arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and transported it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for a post-mortem examination. The sudden death has left both the police department in shock, as the reason behind this tragic decision remains unclear.

Additional SP of Cachar Police, Subrata Sen, immediately rushed to the Circuit House after the incident, overseeing the recovery of the body and ensuring it was sent to SMCH for examination. Preliminary reports suggest that Sinha may have been under significant family pressure, although no official confirmation has been made regarding the motive for the suicide.

Ishwar Sinha had been stationed at the Circuit House for the past six months. Sources reveal that Sinha reportedly placed the nozzle of his service rifle inside his mouth before pulling the trigger, causing a fatal gunshot wound.

The police department has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter.
