Black Magic Scare in Cachar: Locals Foil Attempt Digging of Dead Body from Graveyard

The consequences of superstitions are never good for a civilized society. An unsettling incident occurred at the Uttar Krishnapur area in Cachar late last night. A fraudulent tantrik, who came to exhume a dead body from a grave for performing black magic, was caught by the locals and handed over to the police after receiving a beating. The incident occurred at the local cemetery, where the accused, identified as Azib Uddin from Shildubi, Cachar, was caught red-handed.
According to reports, a local named Fakhruddin Laskar who had passed away on September 30 was buried at the same cemetery. Last night, Fakhruddin’s son, while passing by the cemetery, noticed two individuals digging up his father’s grave to retrieve the body.

Upon witnessing this, he raised an alarm, which gathered nearby residents. They managed to apprehend one of the individuals while the other fled. During questioning, the captured occult practitioner revealed that they intended to retrieve the body to perform rituals. He also disclosed that the escaped individual’s name was Saddam Hussein.

Badrul Ahmed Laskar, the son of Fakhruddin said, “My younger brother saw one man digging up our father’s grave. When he yelled at him and called some of our locals, 10 to 15 people gathered and caught him red-handed. In the meantime, another of his accomplices, Saddam Fakir who happens to be my cousin managed to escape. I also reached there to ask why the man was doing so and what were his intentions. When asked he said, it was Saddam Fakir’s idea as he lived near the graveyard”.

Angered by the incident, the enraged locals gave the fraudster a beating before handing him over to the police at Silchar Rangirkhari police station, where a case has been registered. Locals also alleged that a similar incident took place a year ago, when a woman’s dead body was exhumed from the same cemetery, and her head was severed by unknown miscreants.

The family mentioned that Saddam Fakir (Hussein) had asked the self-proclaimed seer to come and dig out the grave of his uncle (Fakhruddin). They have demanded the strictest punishment for this occult practitioner and his associates.
