Fire Engulfs 12 Businesses in Gumrah, Cachar District
A fire broke out at approximately 10:30 am in the Gumrah area of Cachar district, causing extensive damage to 12 business establishments, including both kuchha and pucca stalls.
The blaze is reported to have originated at a tyre store and quickly spread to nearby shops, leading to significant losses for local traders. Upon noticing the flames, locals promptly informed the Fire and Emergency Services. Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene and succeeded in bringing the flames under control after a concerted effort.
Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, the incident has left several shop owners in distress. Many have pleaded with the district administration and the state government for financial aid to recover from the losses incurred.
