Borkhola: Massive Fire Destroys Poultry Farm and Cattle Shed in Kashipur

A devastating fire broke out late at night in Kashipur, Borkhola under Cachar district, destroying a poultry farm and a nearby cattle shed. Over a thousand chickens and one cow were burnt alive in the tragic incident.

The fire is reported to have started at the poultry farm owned by a local resident named Chaureng Singh. Within moments, the flames engulfed the entire farm and spread to the adjacent cattle shed. Despite efforts by the local people to control the blaze, the raging fire reduced the poultry farm and cattle shed to ashes.

Eyewitnesses described the fire as extremely intense, with towering flames consuming everything in sight. The helpless locals watched as the poultry and cattle were trapped and burnt alive. Around a thousand chickens from the poultry farm and a cow housed in the cattle shed could not be saved.

Firefighters arrived at the scene after being alerted and managed to bring the fire under control. Their timely intervention prevented the flames from spreading further to other houses in the area.

Although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, initial suspicions suggest that it may have been triggered by an electrical short circuit. The fire has caused massive financial losses, estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees.
