Devastating Fire at Silchar's Hospital Road, Shops and Goods Destroyed

A massive fire broke out at Premtola Point in Silchar on Wednesday (March 19), reducing goods worth several lakh rupees to ashes. The fire was reported around noon from an electronics repair shop in the Gopal Complex near Hotel Maruti, located in the Premtola-Hospital Road area.

Several electronic items kept for repair in the shop were completely destroyed. The intense flames and heat also affected adjacent shops, causing significant damage. Black smoke from the fire had blanketed the entire area, causing tension among locals. Upon witnessing the fire, residents immediately informed the fire brigade. Firefighters arrived at the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control after some time.

According to initial reports, the fire is suspected to have originated due to a short circuit. No casualties have been reported so far.
