Women from various groups tied Rakhi to the Jawans in India Bangladesh border
Cadbury celebration ads, images on social media of sister tying Rakhi to her brother or funny memes of a miser brother trying to escape on the occasion of Rakhi are very usual things that we see every year during this festival. Today, in Karimganj, scenes were a little different, something that we don’t usually witness very often.
Female members of BJP Mahila Morcha, RSS, AVBP, Shimanto Chetona Moncho, Viswa Hindu Parishad’s Durga Bahini, and few other organisations decided to dedicate the day to various troops deployed in sensitive border areas, who cannot afford to take leaves and be with their sisters to celebrate Rakhi.
Yes, the female members of various organisations tied Rakhi to the Jawans of BSF, CRPF Paramilitary forces another battalions ensuring a safe and secure Rakhi for the civilians.
The women group started their Rakhi celebration from Bisarjan Ghat in India-Bangladesh border. There, they tied Rakhi to both BSF and CRPF Jawans. They also offered them sweets. The Jawans were very happy and smiling at the surprise. The group of women then marched to Steamerghat and tied Rakhi to 07 battalion of CRPF before heading to Sutarkandi International border. At the Trade Centre the group of women distributed packets of sweets to the Jawans and tied them Rakhi.
If Rakhi is a promise from brother to his sister that he will ensure security of his sister then it is the Jawans who keep their promise more than anyone else. In other words, they are the best brother a society can ever have, this Rakhi, Karimganj showed exactly that to the world.
Senior CRPF officer Anil Kumar and BSF commander Amul Kumar expressed they are happiness at the entire Rakhi drive and at the same time thanked the women group for offering them such a joyous gift on the occasion of Rakhi.
Remember it is very much possible that these jawans have left their family and sisters back at home so this gesture from the women group is really both heartwarming and joyous.
