Toofan Mashi no more; careless truck ran over her this morning

One of homerunners’ most favourite and widely popular as ‘Toofan Masi’ breathed her last today morning. She died in a road accident today early in thr morning. This sad incident occurred in front of the Gauriya Math in National Highway Road, Silchar. It is suspected that the incident happened due to rush driving of the truck. Nobody could explain the exact cause behind the accident as in the the early hours the road was completely deserted. As per latest report the lorry is yet to be traced.

She worked as maid servant in  eight to ten houses  and  used to rush from house to house like a storm to perform her work .That’s why she was known to all as Toofan Masi. Her real name  was Laxmi Chowdhury which people barely remember. Today’s incident happened when she was going to her  routine work.

Unmarried Laxmi Chowdhury lived in Pallisree Lane, National Highway , Silchar  with her niece. Those who knew her loved her vey much as she was very simple and straightforward. At the time of her death, she was approximately 57 years old.
