Babul Bezbaruah is new Principal of SMCH, Abhijeet Swami is appointed as new Superintendent

A notice has been released by the Government of Assam, Health and Family welfare department giving out the orders of the Governor of Assam in change of administrative positions in Silchar Medical College and Hospital

It states, “In the interest of public service, Dr (Mrs) Silpi Rani Barman, Principal-Superintendent Silchar Medical College & Hospital Silchar, is hereby transferred and posted as Principal cum Superintendent, FAAMCH Barmeta with immediate effect.”

To replace Barman, Dr. Babul Bezbaruah, Professor Pharmacology Department, Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh attached to Srimanta Sankradeva University of Health Sciences, Guwahati as Registrar, has been transferred to Silchar. “Bezbarua will be  posted as Principal cum Chief Superintendent Silchar Medical College & Hospital and relieved from attachment as Registrar ofSrimanta Sankradeva University with immediate effect.”

Another major change in the administrative structure of SMCH, Dr. Abhijeet Swami, Associate Proffessor of Medicine, Silchar Medical College & Hospital, Silchar has been posted as the Superintendent of Silchar Medical College & Hospital with immediate effect.
