
APSC success stories Maria - Jagriti ceremoniously felicitated by HKD Admimistration
Locals of Lala town felicitated APSC topper Maria Tanim and 87th rank holder Jagriti Kalwar in a programme organised at the Lala Rural College auditorium, this Saturday.
They were felicitated in a programme jointly organised by the Lala Municipal Board, Lala Press Club, Lala Eid Milan Samiti, Lala Lion’s Club, Gautam Roy Fans’ Club and Ekanto Apon Sanskritik Sanstha. The programme was attended by students, teachers of various schools and organisations from all over Lala town. Several renowned citizens too graced the event which included artistes like Satanu Nath Mazumdar and performers from his Sangeet and Ekanto Apon Sanskritik Sanstha who performed in the programme.
The opening speech was made by primary education officer Jainul Uddin Laskar following which district development officers F. R. Laskar , Dr. Johar Lal Sen handed over mementos and certificates to Maria Tanim and Jagriti Kalwar for their achievements.
Lala Municipal Board chairman Pulak Nath, Lala Press Club and Lion’s Club president Nurul Huda Choudhury, Eid Milan Samiti president Jainul Uddin Laskar, Gautam Roy Fans’Club president Prakash Chand Surana too heaped praises on them for their feats in their respective speeches.
Among others present on the occasion were principals of Lala M.A. Junior College, Primrose English School, Mount Peak English School and president of Udaan Foundation as well.
Dr. Jawaharlal Sen, Anuj Dey, Pulak Nath, Laxminivas Kalwar, Ismotara Begum Barbhuiya of Lala Rural College, too lauded the two achievers and asked students present on the occasion to take inspiration from them.
Maria Tanim and Jagriti Kalwar in their respective speeches gave tips to the students and encouraged them to appear for APSC examinations in future. They also engaged in a Question and Answer session with the students.
The two girls said that in order to succeed in such examinations one has to be very patient and hardworking. They also encouraged the students to keep practicing and honing their skills. They further said that in order to succeed one has to have the utmost level of belief in their own capabilities and never settle down before the goal has been achieved.
They also said that one has to also keep themself updated on various issues happening around and ‘go beyond just books’.
