Increase in the rate of submission of NRC claim: Karimganj 85%, Cachar 63% and 59% NRC claim form submitted in Hailakandi
In NRC, the rate of filling up the claim form was increased in Barak Valley. It has been found that the highest number of form has been submitted in Karimganj district of Barak valley as per the latest data from the NRC authorities till Wednesday, December 5. According to the data, 85.82 percent of the claim form has been deposited in Karimganj. In addition, the 63.28% NRC’s Claim form has been deposited in the Cachar district and 59.77% deposited in the district of Hailakandi.
Meanwhile, Karimganj district came first and Dibrugarh district came second based on the number of NRC claim forms submitted district wise in the NRC Seva Kendra. Total percentage of claim form submitted is 83.17%. On the other hand, the Majuli district has been all down in the list. Not a single demand-objection form has been submitted in Majuli district. Available data indicate that the rate of completing the claim form is rising at a slow pace.
According to a source in the Karimganj district, the highest number of form deposition is 89.62% in Patharkandi Circle, 89.78 percent in Katigorah Circle of Cachar district and 68.99% in the Hailakandi circle of Hailakandi district.
Those who have not yet submitted the form, they must submit the form at any cost, in nearby NRC Seva Kendra. Some organizations in Silchar are helping and urging people to submit the form before the deadline 15th December. They are also appealing to submit the claim form along with self-declaration on white paper without having any documents in hand. Those who do not submit the form will be treated as foreigners, and those who submit the claim, they will have the opportunity to fight legally on the basis of the claim in the future.
