Administration seals three hotels at Central Road, Silchar to prevent Covid infection

With one more new corona positive case reported from Cachar district, on Sunday evening, and adding three more cases from Guwahati, announced late night of Sunday, Assam tally of Corona cases touched the century mark.

According to the latest tweet of minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, there are 57 active cases as of now with 2 deaths and 2 migrated. (Two more cases added on Monday morning taking the total count to 102)

A resident of Borthal TE, who recently returned from Chennai, and was kept quarantined on a hotel at Silchar was found COVID positive on Sunday. The person was shifted immediately to Silchar Medical College for further treatment.

Meanwhile, Cachar Administration has notified new containment zone around the hotel in which the case was found. An order from the Administration mentioned “…Under the power vested in the undersigned by clause 12 of Governor of Assam order no. HLA 248/2020/6 Dated Dispur the 18. March 2020 area inside following geographical boundaries is immediately sealed.
North:     Hotel Divyam
South:     Swagat Hotel
East:     Central Road
West:     Arun Kumar Chandra super Market Complex Hotel Centre Palace.”

The order further imposed restrictions within the containment zone that included- No unauthorized entry and exit of the residents in the contained area to be allowed, strict prohibition of vehicular movement and stricter enforcement of all statutory directions regarding social distancing.

The order mentioned to remain enforced till further orders.
