Assam University: ‘System error’ playing with students’ career

Despite having an authorised admit card, students were not allowed to sit for examinations. The bizarre incident took place in Assam University Silchar’s Agriculture Engineering department. The varsity administration in its official explanation mentioned that this happened due to a “system error”. According to the administration the admit cards got issued by mistake and therefore there is no question of letting the students sit for their semester examinations as they were yet to clear their internals.

On the other hand this incident provoked a stern reaction from the students. A huge number of them assembled and blocked the gate of School of Technology and started demonstrating. Responding to the agitation the administration assured them that the matter would be discussed in details and sought time till December 18 to find a solution.

The examination controller issued a notice stating that all the examinations of Triguna Sen School Of Technology will be on hold till December 18, 2018. From December 19, the examinations will go on as per schedule.
