After Coronavirus now it's Japanese Encephalitis; 13-year-old succumbs in Silchar
About three hundred cases of Japanese Encephalitis are getting detected every day in Assam. As per the National Health Mission, Assam’s medical bulletin, 41 people died on August 13, 2020. The number was 144, same day last year.
One of the 41 to die in the state on August 13, was Udharbond Diptashome Sen. Resident of Chandikhirar area under Udharbond Police Station, Diptashome was only 13-year-old. As per the available information, he was suffering from fever for a few days.
Son of Keshab Sen, Diptashome was a ninth standard student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pailapool.
He was rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for treatment where JE was detected in his body. Yesterday, at around 10:30 PM, Diptashome breathed his last.
