Alto hits ASTC bus in Hailakandi; 5 injured

Call it morning blues or sleep-driving, whatever it is the incident happened early today is really unfortunate. In Hailakandi district’s Sarbanandapur area a Maruti Suzuki Alto rushed into the rear end of an Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) bus.

The accident took place in NH-154, according to eye witnesses the ASTC bus had started from Katlicherra and was heading towards Silchar. On the way it stopped to pick passengers and thats when the Alto hit the bus in its rear end. The eyewitnesses informed us that the Alto was in speed and thus the car got damaged so bad. The Alto started form Aizawl was also heading towards Silchar, in the accident five people including the driver got injured.

Locals immediately rushed to the spot and took all the wounded to a nearby hospitals, the injured admitted in Lala Hospital are identified as, Jomuhana Naga (17), Lalmun Fin (40), R. Jaban Khan (29), Lal Dipui (7) and Lal Duhan (37)…

Local police has recovered the Alto and taken it in its custody.
