Aspiration Barak honours the best quizzers in town

The first edition of Aspiring Barak 2019, kicked off with the most awaited general quiz titled – ‘Quizzing Barak’.

The quiz registered handsome participation with teams coming all the way from different schools of the town and even from Srikona. The quizmaster for the quiz was Dr. Himabrata Das, Registrar, Department of Psychiatry of Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Das is himself an avid quizzer and had records of conducting many quizzes in the town.

The quiz was based on the themes of Art, Anime, Movies, Barak Valley, Pop Culture and various others. It was held in Rajiv Bhawan, where the preliminary round started at around 11:30 A.M. The quiz witnessed a very competitive preliminary round of 50 questions, following which, 6 teams qualified for the finals. Questions were quite intriguing and the competition was even tougher than the prelims.

The Finale, consisting of 6 rounds, had interesting and informative questions, thoroughly enjoyed by the contestants and audience alike. After various brainstorming rounds, the team of Maharishi and Ramanuj were deadlocked in a long tie of same points.

After the long tiebreaker round, the team of Tazdik Laskar, Sournadeep Das and Diptanu Das from Ramanuj Vidya Mandir, Silchar secured the first position. Finishing a close second were Sanchayita Bhattacharjee, Harshvardhan Sharma and Tushar Paul from Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silchar. Abul Ahsan Laskar, Abul Afsar Laskar and Abdul Mazumder from Kendra Vidyalaya, ONGC Srikona, finished third.

The director of Jookto, Subimal Bhattacharjee and DSP Gaurav Agarwal, Additional SP, Cachar, handed the winners, certificates and decorated trophies. 

The questions for the quiz was prepared by Jnanendra Das and the quiz was a huge success with the wholehearted coordination of team Verse-Pe-Verse.
