
Assam Class 12 Results Declared: Sribhumi Records Highest First Divisions in Barak Valley
The wait is finally over for Class 12 students under the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) as results were declared today. In Barak Valley, among the three districts — Cachar, Sribhumi and Hailakandi — Sribhumi recorded the highest pass percentage in the Arts and Science streams, while Hailakandi emerged top in the Commerce stream.
In Cachar district, a total of 12,151 students appeared for the Arts stream exam, with 7,164 passing, leading to a pass percentage of 58.96% — the lowest among the three main streams. In contrast, the district performed better in Science and Commerce. Science recorded a strong 80.93% pass rate with 2,077 students appearing and 1,681 passing. Commerce saw a similar success, with 949 out of 1,171 candidates passing, resulting in an 81.04% pass percentage.
Sribhumi district showed consistent performance across all three major streams. In the Arts stream, 8,725 students appeared and 6,907 passed, achieving a 79.16% pass rate. Science students did even better with 84.64% pass percentage — 1,229 out of 1,452 passed. In Commerce, 337 of the 493 candidates cleared the exam, resulting in a pass rate of 68.36%.
Hailakandi district had a moderate showing in Arts, with 3,017 out of 4,561 students passing — a pass rate of 66.15%. Science students performed better with a 77.24% success rate (886 passed out of 1,147), while Commerce saw the highest pass percentage in the district — 85.34% — with 198 of 232 candidates clearing the exam.
Meanwhile, the performance in the Vocational stream was not as encouraging for Cachar and Hailakandi, which recorded low pass percentages of 39.29% and 29.27% respectively. However, Sribhumi district stood out by achieving a perfect 100% pass rate in the Vocational stream.
In terms of first divisions, Sribhumi secured the highest number in the Arts and Science streams with 1,807 and 803 respectively. Hailakandi led in Commerce with 93 first divisions. Overall, Sribhumi topped the region with a total of 2,809 first divisions, followed by Cachar with 2,633 and Hailakandi with 1,108.
