Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu denies HS final chemistry question paper leak

Assam’s Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has denied the allegations of a question paper leak in the HS Final Year Chemistry exam conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). The denial comes after a screenshot of a handwritten question paper went viral on social media, with many students alleging that the questions in the handwritten question paper were the same as those in the printed question paper conducted by AHSEC.

In a tweet, Minister Pegu stated that the news of a question paper leak is “completely fake and baseless,” and that he has personally checked the matter. Urging students to not pay heed to fake news and rumours he shared a press release of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council dated February 28, 2023.

In the press release Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has categorically denied the rumors of a leaked chemistry question paper in HS Final exam as per news reports of electronic media. The Education Council has urged candidates to ignore such rumors and not to believe any such fake news. Instead, the Council has requested students to concentrate on their upcoming exams and not let such rumors affect their performance.

The allegations of a question paper leak had caused concern among students and parents, who feared that the incident may impact the fairness of the examination. However, the Education Minister’s statement and the Council’s press release have sought to assuage these concerns and maintain the integrity of the examination process.
