Due to the lockdown, many of them are now stranded at different parts of the country and the state government has decided to help them out. During his press conference, Health and Finance Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal discussed with him about the welfare of those patients and their families.

Explaining the plan of action, Minister Sarma said that the patients or their family member will have to dial 03612558955 and provide all the details. The officials at the help desk will forward all the information the administration and police verification will be conducted following all government instructed procedures. “A basic check, if the patient has actually gone out for treatment if the patient is actually suffering from one of the three – Cancer, Kidney Transplant or Heart-related issues… ” said the minister.

After calling and feeding all the information by dialing 03612558955 the patients or their relatives will have to forward bank account details like beneficiary name, beneficiary account number and IFSC code to 6901281862 using WhatsApp. “Once the verification is done and the details are verified the government will transfer the money directly to the beneficiary’s account,” informed Sarma.
