Assam Government issues new guidelines for travellers and COVID death
As the nation sets to re-open, or as its said Unlock in a phased manner, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has issued new guidelines.
The first rule is for a person who travels to any location outside Assam, and comes back within 96 hours of departure will not be required to undergo quarantine of 10 days. However, the same comes to the subject of fulfillment that they undergo a Rapid Antigen Test (RFAT) upon their return. If the test results come positive, they would have to undergo home isolation or treatment at COVID care or hospital.
If the test result is negative, their swab sample would be further taken for RT-PCR testing and he/she will have to remain in isolation till the RT-PCR test result is declared. If the test result is positive, they shall have to isolate at home or hospital/COVID centre, and if it’s negative, they wouldn’t need to further quarantine themselves. However, the person will have to strictly comply with hygiene and social distancing norms during the stay outside Assam.
As per the second point of discussion, the government has decided to give assistance up to Rs 5000 towards the cremation of succumbed COVID positive patients. The same will be provided if family or relatives do not claim the body or are unable to bear the cost.
