Assam Cabinet approves some Pro-Farmer Schemes before 2019 General Election.

In a meeting held on Monday evening, the Cabinet approved the debt relief scheme under which loan taken by farmers would get 25% waiver of the total loan amount.However, the waiver amount cannot exceed Rupees 25000. The state government also provide subsidy of amounting to rupees 10,000 to farmers for taking loan under Kishan credit card (KCC). Now, the farmers will get KCC Loan at 0% interest rate.

The cabinet also approved enhancement of freedom fighter’s pension from Rupees 20000 to Rs. 21000. The Government of Assam will take loan amounting to Rupees 32.72 crores from National Co-operative Development Corporation to revive the Jute mill in Nagaon. Another decision taken in the meeting was to form a micro and small small Enterprises facilitation Council which will be headed by a Commissioner.

Parliamentary affairs minister Chandra Mohan Patwari disclosed this to the media persons after the Cabinet meeting.
