IIRF (not to be confused with the governmental NIRF rankings) ranking, is conducted by the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework Centre for Institutional Research (ICIR). The IIRF evaluates institutions based on multiple factors including placement performance, teaching and learning resources, industry-oriented programs, global outlook, research contributions, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The IIRF rankings provide a comprehensive evaluation of institutions, highlighting areas of excellence and opportunities for improvement. Assam University’s drop in ranking emphasizes the need for continued focus on enhancing educational and research capabilities to regain its previous standing.
