Assam University, Silchar, has achieved a significant milestone in the field of academia and research as three of its faculty members have been recognized on the global stage. The esteemed faculty members have been included in Elsevier’s prestigious list of the world’s top 2% scientists, a recognition that highlights their groundbreaking work in various scientific domains.

The distinguished faculty members hailing from Assam University, Silchar, who have been featured in this exclusive list are:

Dr. Shubhadeep Roychoudhury – An Associate Professor in the Department of Life Science & Bioinformatics.
Dr. Rabinarayan Parhi – An Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Dr. Pradip Debnath – An Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities in the School of Technology.

This recognition is a testament to their exceptional contributions in the fields of natural sciences, environmental sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, health sciences (including reproductive medicine), and mathematical and statistical sciences (including artificial intelligence and image processing). Elsevier, a globally reputed Publishing & Information Analytics Company, compiled this list. The organization’s publicly available database of top-cited scientists provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator (c-score). Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification. The lists were published in 2022 and 2023 as a result of an independent study.
