Attempts to convince Bijendra fail, Ruling party proposes the name of Shibabrata Dutta

Few days are left for the BGM. The ruling party was supposed to have already formed the panel in the normal process. But they have not finalised the panel yet. Since Bijendra Prasad Singh stepped down, the ruling party is unable to find a suitable candidate for the post of Secretary. There was no solution even after two or three meetings.

According to sources, attempts were made to convince Bijendra Prasad Singh to remain as the Secretary. Bijendra returned to the city after being out of town for two days. After that, the ruling party sat in a meeting with him. Efforts were made to let Bijendra stay in the post of Secretary but a source said, Bijendra did not agree. After that the proposal of the ruling party went to Shibabrata Dutta. A meeting has been held with him. But so far the problem has not been solved.

In a meeting yesterday, the name of Debashish Shome came up for the post of Secretary. But Chandan Sharma and Arijit Gupta became unhappy as Debashish’s name came up. Both of them are candidates for the post of two Assistant Secretaries. They said that they will not hold any position in the District Sports Organisation under Debashish. After that, the ruling party started looking for someone new for the post of Secretary. Even after two or three meetings today, the ruling party could not finalise the panel. The ruling party also could not decide who will be the new Secretary candidate. If Shibabrata Dutta also does not agree, then the ruling party will have more problems with the post of Secretary.

Meanwhile, another source revealed that several office-bearers of the current committee have withdrawn themselves from the upcoming BGM due to Bijendra’s withdrawal. The ruling party is in trouble with this although no one wants to open their mouth about it. However, it is known that some people no longer want to be in charge. The picture will be clear in the next two days.

Interestingly, there are two or three people from the opposition camp who have suddenly become favorites of the ruling party. One such person is cricket Secretary candidate Niharendu Dev. He is from the opposition camp. But it is known that some members of the ruling party are supporting Niharendu against the current Cricket Secretary Niranjan Das. Party workers are also present in the ruling party’s meeting on BGM. Many of them want Niharendu for the post of cricket Secretary. They don’t like Niranjan Das.

Meanwhile, the opposition camp also held several meetings today and determined their strategy. Secretary candidate Atanu Bhattacharjee is campaigning vigorously. President Babul Hore is keeping a special eye on the panel of ruling party. All in all, BGM is reaching it’s climax.
