The National Register of Citizen (NRC) procedure has emerged as a headache for people of Barak Valley, today while addressing a huge gathering in Silchar, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international joint general secretary, Surendra Kumar Jain said that the Hindus need not worry at all, “If needed, we will change the law but we won’t let any Hindu lose their citizenship,” said the International general secretary. He believes Hindus were persecuted and hence they had no choice but to move to the India.
“Muslims on the other hand had no reason to cross the borders and illegally settle in this part. They saw opportunity in India and hence they crossed borders in groups, they will have to leave the country and if government cannot send them off, we will,” announced Jain. Jain was in Silchar to attend the VHP North East organised ‘Gayatri Mahayogya’.
The VHP top man did not hold back his words and went hammers and tons and few of his comments were very controversial in nature. He said India is a “land of Hindus” and was of the opinion that Hindus want to develop the country while the majority of the Muslim population wants to destroy “culture and tradition” of the country. He said, “They indulge into love-jihad and many other antisocial activities.” He also added that the government was weak in both Assam and Center earlier and the Hindu population was not united and hence the anti-social activities went all unnoticed but it cannot happen anymore. “Now, for the Muslims to live in this country, they will have to respect, Bharata Mata (Motherland), Gao-Mata (Cow) and women or else they will have to leave the country.”
Jain in his speech added that the Muslims of the country need to follow ideologies like former president late APJ Abdul Kalam. “Many even today consider themselves descendants of Babar, Ghori (Muhammed Ghori), Ghazni (Mahmud). They need to understand that these were the people who invaded India in order to loot and harm the country. Muslims should not follow such invaders and instead follow APJ Abdul Kalam’s path.”
Today, being Ram Navami, the VHP man said that next year Ram Navami will be celebrated in Ram Mandir in Yodhya.
Several other Hindu organisations were also present in the occasion of ‘Gayatri Mahayogya’ and their representatives addressed the gathering. It estimated that over 15,000 devotees participated in the Mahayogya. The ‘Yogya’ started at 8 AM, and continued throughout the morning.
Yesterday, about 300 women gathered at Annapurna Ghat and fetched water from river Barak. After collecting water, they marched to India Club field where the ceremony was inaugurated. It ended today in the evening after distribution of ‘Prasadam’. It is considered as one of the biggest event organised by VHP in Silchar.
