Beware of Counterfeit ₹500 Notes: Katigorah Police Arrests Supplier with ₹80,000
Last evening, based on a tip-off Katigorah Police had set up an operation at the Katigorah Chowringhee to apprehend a fake note supplier. In the operation, the police team were successful in apprehending the supplier, who has been identified as Sajib Uddin Mazarbhuiya. The police team recovered a stash of counterfeit notes from his possession.
On December 3, the police team apprehended the fake note supplier Sajib Uddin Mazarbhuiya who had a stash of counterfeit ₹500 notes in his possession. When the police team counted, the total amount stood at ₹80,000. 16 notes were found in his possession, while he was headed towards Kalain in a passenger auto-rickshaw.
The auto headed towards Kalain was also taken into police custody. Startled by these developments, the auto driver fled from the scene. However, the supplier, Sajib Uddin Mazarbhuiya who belongs to the Ganirgram village of Katigorah in Cachar was arrested by the Katigorah Police.
An investigation is ongoing in this matter.
