Bike lifter caught red-handed while attempting to steal two-wheeler from Silchar - Haflong Highway

Daylight theft in Cachar’s Udharbond. A bike thief was caught red-handed today by locals in Udharbond’s Goshaipur village. Later when the police were called, they rushed to the spot and arrested him. He has been identified as Salman Hussain Laskar.

The thief, Laskar, was trying to steal a bike from the Silchar-Haflong highway in Goshaipur. When locals saw him, they rushed to catch him. Later the locals informed the Udharbond Police Station and after the police’s intervention, he was arrested. A Pulsar 220 bike was also recovered, which he was trying to steal.

Salman Hussain Laskar is a resident of Kanthagram in Lakhipur. Udharbond Police Station’s SI Promesh Sinha, regarding this matter, said, “When we got the call from some villagers of Goshaipur Part 2, we rushed to the spot and found the thief. Based on the statement of the villagers, he was arrested as found red-handed and in possession of the stolen bike”.

The SI further said, “Right now we are filing the Challan against his action. Today he will be produced in the court and with the court order, later he will be transferred to the jail”. The arrested thief is just 22 years old.
