Bike stolen from Rangirkhari, miscreant caught on CCTV camera
One thing is clear, the miscreants stealing motorcycles from Silchar do not fear getting caught. Today afternoon at around 12 noon, Abhishek Roy a resident of lane number 6, First Link Road parked his Bajaj Pulsar 220 near electronic appliance shop Sree Ram plaza. Roy went to Port Black Club in Rangirkhari to play a game of snooker.
As he walked out at around 1:30 this afternoon he realised that his vehicle is missing from the spot. He immediately started asking about it and that is when a local resident asked him to check the CCTV footage.
The CCTV footage came in as a shocker, as the visual showed a young boy first looking around to see if anyone is noticing him and then forcing a duplicate key through the keyhole to successfully igniting the engine and riding away with the bike in a span of couple of minutes.
Abhishek Roy these days lives in Chandigarh as he is studying there at an university and is now in Silchar to enjoy his vacation. He along with a few other went to the local police station and lodged a complaint.
Abhishek is shocked at the incident as his motorcycle AS 11 L 8747 purchased on December 27, 2016 was in a very good condition.
This case of motorcycle robbery in broad daylight exposes loopholes in the security system for the administration to fill. This incident also poses a big question mark on Bajaj and the security measures it follows. As a large auto manufacturer, the Pune headquartered auto giant should take cognizance of the fact that it is very easy to steal a Pulsar bike in today’s date with a duplicate key.
