Biker Dies on Eid Evening in Head-On Collision With Scooty in Ramnagar Bypass

A tragic accident on the Ramnagar bypass claimed the life of a young biker on Monday evening, while two others sustained severe injuries.

The deceased, Firdaus Alom Barbhuiya, was a resident of Durgapur Village in Borkhola. He had left home on his bike (AS-11P-3806) to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr when he was involved in a head-on collision with a scooty (AS-11Z-6186).

The scooty was carrying two riders, Saptarshi Singh and Bishal Singh, both from Tarapur. They suffered serious injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Local residents and passersby rushed to the scene upon hearing the crash. Emergency services arrived shortly after, but Firdaus had already succumbed to his injuries. His body has been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for postmortem.

A pall of sorrow descended upon Firdaus Alom Barbhuiya’s village as his untimely death cast a shadow over the Eid celebrations. What was meant to be a day of joy turned into one of mourning, leaving his family and neighbourhood heartbroken.

Overspeeding and reckless driving remain major concerns on this stretch of the road.
