Barak Valley's Bikram Kairi becomes DC; "Will be able to contribute more to the nation," says he

Moment of pride for the people of Barak Valley. Udharbond’s Bikram Kairi has been appointed as the deputy commissioner of Majuli. He is currently employed as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia District.

Bikram Kairi’s father Sitaram Kairi works at the postal department, they are resident of Majhargram area in Udharbond. Kairi became an IAS Officer in 2014 and after that, he was employed in several parts of Assam.

Speaking with Barak Bulletin he said, “I feel really good about the posting, it’s one of the most exciting phases in an IAS officers life. I am really excited about it but bracing for the bigger responsibility, expectations and opportunity that will come to me. I believe that I will be able to contribute much more to the nation and the society by this new opportunity.”

 

Talking about the past responsibilities he shared that his journey as a bureaucrat stated when he was posted as Assistant Commissioner, Nagaon “Then I became the Assistant Secretary, Ministry of HRD, Govt of India, then I am employed as Sub Divisional Officer Civil, Margherita, then as Deputy Secretary, Department of labour & Director Tea in Department of Industries and Commerce, Govt of Assam, then as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tinsukia.”

Bikram Kairi is an Alumnus of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Pailapool. The school’s Alumni association congratulated the former pupil. “It gives us immense joy and pride to share that our brother Shri Bikram Kairi, Alumni of JNV Pailapool, Cachar, Assam has been promoted as DC -Majuli District, Assam today dated 23-Sep-2019. He was earlier posted as ADC, Tinsukia, Assam.

Adding, “Shri Bikram Kairi has been acknowledged & rewarded for his excellent services during his tenure as ADC. His appointment as Deputy Commissioner of Majuli has inspired many Civil Service aspirants of Barak Valley.
