Blood bank employee Ranadhir Paul commits suicide; found hanging at home
In a shocking turn of affairs, Ranadhir Paul, grade IV employee of Blood Bank, Silchar Medical College and Hospital committed suicide. As per available information, in the early hours of today morning, he was found hanging at his own residence. His family members spotted the body.
Paul attempted suicide a couple of weeks back too and was admitted in SMCH. A few days back after recovering, he was discharged by the hospital authority.
It is worth mentioning here that Ranadhir Paul’s daughter Puja Paul had called for a press conference on May 28, 2019. In the press conference, Puja Paul accused Blood Bank in-charge Rajiv Biswas of mentally torturing her father. She went on to say that Biswas compelled Ranadhir Paul to commit suicide.
After taking over as the in-charge of Blood Bank, Biswas noticed that Ranadhir Paul used to work 24 hours a day and in fact, had a bed placed in the hospital premises. Biswas asked Paul for an explanation and allegedly accused him of corruption. As per Ranadhir Paul’s family members, Paul was just doing his duty selflessly and helping the citizens of the Valley.
