Body of a businessman recovered from Azad Hind Road Silchar; Police suspect unnatural death

Today morning people of Azad Hind Road area Silchar were taken by a shock when they saw a human body dumped next to a drain in the locality. The residents immediately informed Police about it an then Police officials recovered the body.

As per Police sources the deceased is identified as Paritosh Paul, age around 50 years and resident of Chengcoorie road Silchar. He lived with his wife and two daughters at his own house in Ramkrishna Sarani. Professionally Paul was a businessman and used to often travel to Mizoram and stay there to take care of professional engagements.

The cause of Paul’s death is not clear yet and officer in charge told us that there are several injury marks on Paul’s body and the circumstances in which the body was found is not natural. The Police has send the body to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for postmortem, “We will get to know more after seeing the report,” said the officer in charge.

His family members informed that Paul went out to get food as per his daughter’s request last Saturday and did not return after that. The family members also said that Paul was in a state of depression since last few days and the reason behind his state of mind was not known to the family. Also what came in as a shock is the fact that Paul’s wife and other family members denied to register an FIR despite finding the body in a mysterious condition.

While Police investigations are on, neighbours suggest that extramarital affair is the root of all miseries. A neighbour informed our reporter that Paul spoke to a few people in the colony about his wife’s possible involvement in an extramarital affair.
