Body of mother and son recovered from a well in Hailakandi; Husband prime suspect

Hailakandi Police today around 12 noon recovered body of 23 years old, Anima Goala and her two years old son from a well in Kuchila area. Neighbours of the victim are quite certain that husband, Surya Shekhar Goala murdered both wife and son. A neighbour on condition of anonymity informed, “There were regular fights between the two families as the wife’s parents were unable to meet the dowry conditions the two parties agreed before wedding, hence they used to fight quite often.”

Police though denied to speculate at this stage and the officer in charge told us, “Investigation is going on, we are yet to know the reason.” Police is interrogating the victim’s Mother-in-law and and sister-in-law, “We don’t have any evidence at this stage to link this as a murder for dowry,” said the officer.

Husband, Surya Shekhar Goala is missing and police is searching him, “Of course he is the prime suspect.” said the officer.

Whatever the reason might be, the fact is that a two year old young boy’s life finished before he could actually start living, 23 year old women too is dead and there can be nothing more horrifying than that.
