Braveheart Rangikhari police nabs veteran burglar Raj Barbhuiya, jeweller Harekrishna Banik and others

Everyday, news of our police force fighting hard to make our lives secure comes as a relief. Yesterday, the Rangikhari police team under the leadership of Sahab Uddin Barbhuiya, on the basis of secret information, nabbed veteran burglar Raj Barbhuiya from Meherpur.

Sources tell us that Sahab Udiin was brilliant at his chase and left no stone unturned to nab the culprits. Reportedly, he even jumped into a pond and swam across to catch the escaping thief. His efforts paid right as not just Raj but the team also managed to catch hold of his aides.

After his arrest, the culprit revealed names of two of his partners in crime namely Shamim Hussain Laskar and Shakil Hussain Laskar, who were also soon arrested from Meherpur and Uttarkrishnapur respectively. A case has been registered against them vide Silchar PS case no 1347/18, under section 380/457 IPC.

Later on, while interrogating, Barbhuiya also revealed that his house owner Fazizur Rahman Laskar of Meherpur also helped him in concealing the stolen items. With him involved in the case, the police also arrested up the landlord. Barbhuiya also revealed that owners of Jyoti jewellers of Shillong patty Harekrishna Banik and Shubra Banik would help him in melting the stolen gold items. The police further arrested the father-son duo for assisting Barbhuiya in the crime.

The police team recovered two stolen gold ring from Barbhuiya mother and three stolen gold rings from Jyoti jewellers. With the case being filed, follow up action is being taken by the team to further crack the case.
