Breaking: Anti-Corruption unit catches government employee in Silchar while taking bribe of Rs 10,000

What comes in as big breaking news, officials from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Assam in association with Cachar Police, have caught a government officer red-handed while accepting bribes.

Madan Mohan Singha, Senior Assistant Accountant, Silchar Treasury Office was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000. It has been confirmed by the Cachar Police that the government employee was at his office on duty when he collected the bribe and was caught red-handed.

Why he collected the bribe and who was the complainant remains unknown. A troop of Police personnel have barricaded the office premises and are now investigating the matter further.

It is worth mentioning here that, G. P. Singh, IPS, Special Director General of Police, Assam, leads the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption unit of the State. He informed, “Today, a team of @DIR_VAC_ASSAM caught red handed Sh Madan Singha, Senior Account Assistant O/O Treasury officer, Cachar in his office receiving bribe of Rs 10,000. The bribe was demanded for processing of commutation loan of the complainant, who is a retired public servant.”
